According to Alstom’s Stockholm-based HS2 Director Henrik Anderberg, HS2 is a ‘£60 billion project’ and the company is targeting contracts for track, electrification, signalling, logistics and trains (it has no UK train manufacturing, or even assembly, capability).

Pursuing, to win, the largest Very High Speed project the world will see the next 15 years, connecting London to the Northern powerhouse enabling social and economical growth. First phase between London and Birmingham will be in service 2026. Total budget including phase 2 (Birmingham – Manchester and Birmingham – Leeds) is 60B pounds. Simply a mind blowing project!
