Andy Burnham, the bookmakers’ favourite to be the next Labour leader, has told party members in Camden that he has doubts about the controversial HS2 rail plan (wrote Richard Osley).

He said [at a question-and-answer session at Netley Primary School] that he was worried that “vested interests”, rather than public support, was driving the £50billion project.
