HS2 Growth Task Force expenditure

leave a comment »

Programme spend on Lord Deighton’s HS2 Growth Task Force (GTF) totalled £5,030 up to about the end of March 2014, the Department for Transport has claimed. However, that figure does not include Atkins‘ assistance in “making recommendations on maximising growth and regeneration benefits at HS2 station sites”, or the costs of a “small” support team of civil servants working out of DfT offices.

The approved maximum value of the Atkins contract is £66,600 excluding VAT. The Task Force also commissioned the Good Relations Group to develop and deliver a PR strategy. The out-turn costs of the Atkins and Good Relations contracts “will be published on the Cabinet Office’s Contracts Finder Database in due course”.
