HS2 public relations, part two

leave a comment »

In August 2012, HS2 Ltd stated that it did not use any external PR or social media consultants or companies.

Things may have changed. Hansard (10 March 2014) recorded that for communications advice in the period since it was set up through to March 2014, HS2 Ltd had paid Westbourne Communications £422,656, AMV/BBDO £75,175, and MHP Communications £61,080.

Westbourne's Paul Chapman

Exactly how the money was spent, is far from clear. But HS2 comms seems to be largely aimed at government itself, other politicians, and big business (rather than “the public”).
