HS2 and Stoke-on-Trent, part three

with 2 comments

Stoke-on-Trent’s city council has proposed that the HS2 Y network be redesigned, to pass through Stoke-on-Trent. Who’d have thought it.

Stoke-on-Trent city council's Response to the HS2 Phase 2 Consultation was apparently written by Dr Alan James

Perhaps the most interesting thing about Stoke council’s Response to the HS2 Phase 2 Consultation is that it was apparently written by Dr Alan James, promoter of the (bonkers) UK Ultraspeed maglev scheme. He appears in an Ultraspeed promo video posted on Youtube on 13 December 2008. So far as can be established, the UK Ultraspeed plan did not include any station in the Potteries.
