HS2 economics apologist chaired audit committee of Britannia Building Society

with one comment

HS2 apologist Bridget Rosewell has written a rambling defence of KPMG’s HS2 Regional Economic Impacts report on the Volterra website. Apparently, being ‘rigorous’ when doing statistics is bad, or something.

More interesting was Ms Rosewell’s Volterra bio page, which revealed that she

  • is chairperson of the audit and risk committee at Network Rail (whose debt has ballooned to £30,000,000,000);
  • formerly chaired the audit committee of the Britannia Building Society (which was rescued by the Co-operative Bank).

According to Economia, she was on the board of the Britannia for ten years.
