[Paul Prentice, Rail Magazine (tweet)]
At #ukairrail conference, #hs2 Comms Director Paul Chapman talks of £5/£10 ‘standby’ tickets on mobile phones within 2hr travel window…

Mr Chapman was managing director of HS1, the high speed line in Kent, where Southeastern trains run more than half empty for most of the day (and half-empty in the peaks too, in the contra-tide direction).

So how many “£5 standby tickets” have been up for grabs on Southeastern High Speed, since HS1 opened?

  1. “the High speed line in Kent, where Southeastern trains run more than half empty for most of the day (and half-empty in the peaks too, in the contra-tide direction)”

…just like the rest of the commuter network.
